Nature Photography Contest 2024

The Friends group is hosting another photo contest this year to celebrate the seasonal beauty of Pope Farm Conservancy!

The contest is open to amateur photographers of all ages! Judging of the photos will be done by our partners at PhotoMidwest, and The Camera Company will be donating mounted prints to the winners. Winners will be announced and awarded at the Friends’ annual summer picnic in late August. The winning photos will also appear in FOPFC publications and on the Friends’ website.

More Info for Participants:

• One submission is allowed per individual.
• Photos must be taken at Pope Farm Conservancy in 2024 with straightforward nature photos authentic to Pope Farm with no elements from other locations introduced.
• Photo submissions are due by Saturday, July 20th, 2024.
• Participants must select a category: Landscape, or Prairie Plants
• All ages are welcome! Entries will be dividied into two age groups: Adults (18+) and Youth (17 and under)
• Judges will select one winner from the Youth age group, plus one winner in each category, and one “Best in Show” winner.
• Original photo should only be modified with minimal correction.
• Photos must be submitted in .jpeg or .jpg format, with a filesize of 1-3 MB.
• The filename of the submitted photo should be in the following format: Last name_First initial_Image title name. For example: Smith_A_Sunflower
• There is no entry fee to participate in the contest.
• Winners will be announced and awarded at the Friends’ Annual Picnic on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 at Kalscheur Park Hall in Pine Bluff.
• By submitting photos in this contest, participants are granting the Friends of Pope Farm Conservancy permission to use the submitted photos in publications, social medium platforms, websites and other announcements in any form and at any time.
